Language & Currency
Language: Arabic is the official language in the UAE, but don’t fret if you’re not fluent. Thanks to the diverse community, English is widely spoken and understood. It’s the go-to language for business, tourism, and even schools.
Currency: The currency is the UAE Dirham, or AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham). It’s commonly referred to as Dirham with smaller units called Fils. Although credit and debit cards are widely accepted in UAE, I recommend always carrying a bit of cash.
DUBAI
Dubai, a hot spot in the Middle East, showcases a mix of ambition and modernity. Among its iconic skyline, dominated by the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower, and the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab hotel, lies a city that continuously redefines luxury and innovation.
Dubai is often known for its extravagant lifestyle. It has a flashy and prestigious vibe, and shopping malls like The Dubai Mall are a daily hobby. Grand-scale luxury can be witnessed everywhere in Dubai, especially with iconic places like Atlantis The Palm and The World.
Beyond this spectacular city, it’s not all gold and oil. Visitors can enjoy a lifestyle away from the high life. Think desert safaris, dune bashing, and camel rides in the Arabian desert. As Dubai is a multicultural hub, expect a diverse dining scene, cultural festivals, and many entertainment options. Some of their tours are absolutely amazing, so try not to just get lost in the glitz and glam.
