When’s The Best Time To Visit Middle East Asia?

Generally speaking, the best time to visit the Middle East is spring, March to May, and autumn, September to November. During these months, the weather becomes more pleasant for outdoor activities, and crowds decrease compared to the peak summer months.

In contrast, the winter months, December to February, attract higher tourism due to milder and more comfortable temperatures. However, keep in mind that prices for flights and hotels may be higher during this period. Therefore, if you’re budget-conscious, it might be wise to consider the other seasons.

Alternatively, June to August is your month if you don’t mind the intense heat. Places like Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Iran are equally stunning regardless of season! Nonetheless, if you plan to visit coastal areas or mountainous regions such as Lebanon or Turkey, summer is the best time to go.

Is It Safe To Travel To This Region?

Like any region, travel safety in Middle East Asia depends on various factors. This includes the specific country, current geopolitical situations, and individual circumstances. While some areas in the Middle East may experience political tensions or security concerns, many countries are safe and welcoming for tourists. Here are some tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip here:

  • Research. Before travelling, research the country you’re visiting. Stay current with travel advisories and security advice issued by the government. I usually use GOV.UK to study the chosen country as it has relevant travel information.
  • Respect Local Laws & Customs. This includes dressing modestly, following local customs regarding behaviour and interactions, and being mindful of religious practices.
  • Travel Insurance. For peace of mind, purchase travel insurance that includes coverage for medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Use Reliable Transport. Research popular transportation options in the country you travel to, and be wary of travelling alone at night in unfamiliar areas. Update your family and friends with where you are going.
  • Be Prepared. Carry a portable charger with you so your phone always has power. Being stranded in a country without access to any information on your phone is never pleasant.
  • Trust Your Gut. If it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. Don’t be afraid to seek help or remove yourself from any situation you don’t feel comfortable with.
