While English is common in touristy areas, learning a few local phrases will definitely earn you some smiles, but Google Translate is always available to save the day, too.

Currency: Vietnam uses the Vietnamese Dong (VND), and trust me, you’ll feel like a millionaire—100,000 VND is only about $4 USD! Cash is king here, especially for street food, markets, and small shops, so always keep some on hand. ATMs are everywhere, and big cities accept cards, but for local spots, it’s all about the dong!

Hanoi

If I had to pick just two locations for my Vietnam bucket-list itinerary, one would be Ninh Binh—raw, rugged, and utterly mesmerizing! The overnight Amanda Cruise on the 3D 2N Amanda Cruise Tour was just amazing. Waking up to the views of Ha Long Bay is an experience I won’t forget anytime soon! The rooms were gorgeous, and the staff were friendly, making this stay a solid 10/10.

Da Nang

Da Nang is the ultimate all-in-one destination! Think stunning beaches, epic nightlife, and jaw-dropping nature all in one spot. Spend your morning surfing or chilling on My Khe Beach, your afternoon on a day trip, and your night hitting rooftop bars with insane city views.

Da Nang has some of my favourite attractions – Ba Na Hills, the famous Golden Hand Bridge (yep, the one held up by giant hands), and the Marble Mountains. Plus, Hoi An is just a short ride away! Whether you’re here to relax, explore, or party—Da Nang has it all – make sure to add it to your Vietnam bucket list – no ifs, no buts, no maybes!

Vietnam Bucket List: Amazing Tours In Da Nang

  • Golden Hand Bridge & Ba Na Hills: This is a must when visiting! This awesome attraction close to Da Nang is packed with plenty to see. I spent 4 hours solo here, but I easily could have done 6; there’s so much to see! Plus, the weather changes frequently, but the wait for clear skies is worth it! This attraction was a highlight of my Vietnam bucket-list trip! Defo recommend going solo or with the Golden Bridge & Ba Na Hills Tour!
  • Marble Mountain, Monkies & Caves: Explore the Marble Mountains and Am Phu Cave, where you’ll witness the mystical underworld and discover Buddhist depictions of hell – it’s really fascinating (and a little creepy). Then, head to Monkey Mountain and soak in stunning sunset views of Da Nang from the top of Son Tra Peninsula. With cultural sights and jaw-dropping panoramas, this Marble Mountain, Monkies & Cave Tour perfectly combines history, nature, and epic views!

Han River/City Centre. If you’re all about the urban buzz of Da Nang, the Han River/City Centre is the spot. Enjoy trendy cafes, vibrant nightlife, and quick access to Da Nang’s iconic attractions like the Dragon Bridge and Han Market. It’s the ideal mix of culture and convenience!

Babylon Hoi An gave me vibes from the moment I walked in! The quirky yellow and black decor and stylish layout made it feel super unique. Plus, the top floor is a whole social haven—with a rooftop pool, bar, and entertainment-like pool—perfect for chilling and meeting new people!

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is where Vietnam’s energy is at its peak! Think buzzing streets, crazy traffic, epic rooftop bars, and mouthwatering street food at every corner. District 3. District 3 in Ho Chi Minh City is a cool mix of local charm and city life—less touristy than District 1 but still packed with awesome cafes, street food, and cultural spots. It’s home to beautiful French colonial architecture and is known for its laid-back vibe, tree-lined streets, and some of the best pho in Ho Chi Minh City!

Hotel Milestone Saigon is located in a good area; the beds were cosy, and the staff were friendly. However, the breakfast wasn’t the best. But if you’re looking for a good location for a few days, it’s a good place to stay in Ho Chi Minh City!

Da Lat

If you’ve got the time, add Da Lat to your Vietnam bucket list itinerary! Why Da Lat? Because it’s Vietnam’s ultimate cool-weather escape with total main-character energy! Think misty mountains, dreamy flower gardens, and pine forests giving fairytale vibes!

Da Lat has waterfalls, quirky cafes, and adventure spots like canyoning and mountain biking. Plus, it’s known as the ‘City of Love’—so Da Lat is the perfect vibe whether you’re here for romance, adventure, or just a break from the heat. Trust me, you’ll love it!
