Whether you’re looking for parties, the crystal blue sea, or amazing vibes, Malta has something for everyone. Just a three-hour flight from London, this paradise is a true beauty to be added to your list.
I went on a mum-and-daughter trip to Malta, but friends, family and solo travellers would also find this destination amazing. In this blog, I’ll explain what you need to know about this island and advise you on some fantastic stops in Valletta, St Julian’s, and Vittoriosa.

Speak & Spend Like A Local In Malta!
Language: In Malta, both Maltese and English are spoken. Maltese is the national language, but English is also widely used, especially in business, government, and education.
Currency: Malta uses the Euro (EUR) for money. It switched to the Euro in 2008, saying goodbye to the Maltese Lira. While you can use cards almost everywhere, having cash for small purchases is a good idea.

Getting Around Malta: Easy & Fun!
Public Buses: The public bus system is super convenient for getting around the islands. Fares range from €1.50 to €2.00 for short trips and up to €3.00 for longer journeys. For unlimited travel, grab a day ticket or a weekly pass. Check out Malta Public Transport for the latest fare info.
Taxis and Ride Shares: Need a taxi? No problem. Taxis are everywhere, and you can also use Uber and Bolt, just like in the UK. Prices are similar, so you’ll feel right at home.
Hop-On-Hop-Off Buses (HOHO Pass): Get a HOHO day pass for a fun and easy way to explore Malta’s top spots. Choose between the South and North routes, or go for a two-day pass to see everything. Hop on and off as you like, and enjoy the ride! We spent five days here and felt like 3-days worth of HOHO was best.

Where To Stay
During our stay, we stayed at the stunning H Hotel & Spa, located in the popular St. Julian’s location. It was giving boujee vibes! It’s central to a shopping centre, a beach, a party strip, and many yummy restaurants.

The hotel has a restaurant, spa, and rooms catering to different needs. The penthouse-type room looks so nice, and some other rooms offer hot tubs. I loved the black and gold theme of the hotel; it has a very luxurious feel, and the staff is so friendly.
Other stunning hotel choices include Iniala Harbour House, which has luxurious suites and a fine dining experience. This is a super classy hotel, so why not if you can afford it? Or, check out Palais Le Brun, a more affordable, upscale boutique gem.
Disover Valletta: A Wallkable Gem
Valletta is a breeze to explore, packed with cool attractions in a small area. Thanks to its walkable streets, you can easily stroll around historic sites, museums, and shops. The city’s lively vibe and friendly locals make visiting it a blast. Whether you’re checking out the amazing architecture, tasting delicious local food, or just enjoying the Mediterranean Sea, you’re in for a great time.
Triton Fountain
Check out the Triton Fountain, a real eye-catcher in Valletta, Malta! Crafted by sculptor Vincent Apap, it showcases a bronze Triton perched on a tall column, with water jets all around. Plus, it’s right by the city’s entrance, so you can’t miss it. It looks super pretty in the night when it’s lit up.

Spazju Kreattiv, nestled in the heart of Valletta, Malta, is a lively cultural hotspot. Lookout Points In Malta
Valletta has several great lookout spots to enjoy views of Sliema, the Grand Harbour, the Three Cities (Vittoriosa, Senglea, and Cospicua), and Fort St. Angelo across the water. The Upper Barrakka Gardens is a favourite because it offers similar stunning views from a different angle and usually has fewer crowds. So it’s definitely worth a visit!
